Well, it’s been a while since I blogged. My bad! You know things get pretty crazy around the holidays. Then if you add in your first move and things it gets a little wild. But Rachel, my roommate, and I have settled into our new home and added our personalities and homey touches. It is feeling more like our home every day. Here are some pictures.
I celebrated a great Christmas. For the first time, I had to go
home for Christmas. I spent a few nights back at my parent’s house. We celebrated with lots of friends and family. When people ask us how we spend Christmas we never really have the same answer. Since it is just the 6 of us in our immediate family at Christmas, we always adopts new ideas and traditions and it is generally shared with different people that also don’t go off to visit their grandparents or other relatives.
I recently have been thinking about why I love Christmas so much. I think I love it’s set apartness. I love that we have different music, different decorations, different movies, and even different schedules and priorities at Christmas. It is beautiful! I love the peace and the joy that surround the holiday. Seems like our life as Christians should resemble Christmas all year round, set apart! But Christmas was all of those things for me this year and I also especially enjoyed looking back over the year and thanking God for where he has brought me this year. He and I wrestled for about 11 months of the year and finally he said, “Here’s what I’ve been waiting to give you.”
A week after Christmas, I headed to the Passion Conference in Atlanta with 40 of our college students. That was, as always, an amazing time of refreshing and refocusing. As we look ahead, it is an amazing way to kick off the New Year. It is also a great time to reconnect with students and really hear their heart and what God is doing in their life. It’s encouraging to know that God is working in our group in the lives of individuals.
This week, I have been back in full swing in the office. As I expected, we had a great influx of new interests and sign-ups just since the New Year so it has been a busy week.
So, there is a brief update about what has been going on since you heard from me last. I appreciate that I have been in all of your prayers. Thank you so much for your constant support and encouragement. I look forward to the New Year and all that God has in store for me to do with Him this year.
