So, I'm sitting here in the French Quarter which has been my home for the past several afternoons.
I'm living here in the Garden District of the French Quarter for this month that I'm down here. I love this house. So, I have gotten pretty settled in down here! My day is filled with a variety of things. I am ministering alongside of the youth pastors and getting to know them. Also, I subtly ask them for their opinion of how things are going and try to make adjustments as we can based on their recommendations. Although, so far, everyone seems to be having a great time and doing a great job. We have gutted about 6 houses all together. We have helped serve meals at to the people every lunch and dinner. We have gone out into the community distributing needs. We've also prayer walked through the streets of Holly Grove, the former crime capital of the country. (pre-Katrina). It has been a very productive week. It makes me tired to think of all that has been accomplished. I also have enjoyed loving on the staff that will be here all summer. Answering questions, and encouraging them. As I drove down here, I prayed that God would give me the opportunity to be a peace-maker down here. There is so much going on and it can get tiring to do this week after week. During my time here, I want to be a breath of fresh air to the other leaders. I want to come alongside of them and be a support...running errands, riding around with them...whatever I can do to take things off their plate. I really feel like God has allowed me to do that and I am loving my role. Pray that I will continue to be full to pour out to them and that God will continue to bless our teams and our staff.
